Drugs services facing crisis

Dublin West Sinn Féin representative Paul Donnelly has called for an end to the cuts in drugs services as they are at crisis point.

Mr Donnelly said “Drugs services are at crisis point. I have been involved in developing and maintaining drugs services as a community activist for many years now and I fear that we are heading back to the situation of the 90′s when we had little or no services in Blanchardstown. I am appealing to the Government to reverse the decision the plan to impose on our services. There is no easy way to cut anymore. Its ironic that at a time when we have had cuts for six years in a row, the government have aslo introduced a new alcohol strategy for our community to deal with.

“I fully support the Blanchardstown Local Drugs Task Force campaign against the cuts and urge everyone to also show their support by liking their facebook page, “Defending drug and alcohol services”.
