April 7th Housing meetingDublin West Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Donnelly has announced that the party will be organising a series of events throughout the constituency on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March to help promote the National Homeless and Housing Coalition march on April 7th in Dublin.

Councillor Donnelly said “There is no doubt that we have a housing emergency, there is no doubt that this government and previous governments for the past thirty years have failed to provide adequate social and affordable housing for our citizens”.

“It is time we all took a stand and demanded that a massive house building programme is undertaken, controlled and funded by our government. We know they won’t voluntarily do this, we must force them like we forced a massive climb down on water charges”.

“The National Homeless and Housing Coalition is made up of voluntary, community and political parties who have been active on the housing crisis. It is by coming together in vast numbers will be able to make real change.”

“Sinn Féin will be holding events in every corner of Dublin West Friday 9th and Saturday the 10th of March to raise awareness of the campaign and to publicise the protest rally on April 7th”.

“I look forward to meeting as many people as possible over the two days and encouraging them to commit to being there on the 7th. If you are homeless, are facing homelessness or looking for affordable housing then we are on your side”.
